Parts of Minnesota are starting Friday bitterly cold
Sunshine prevails by the afternoon
Friday is starting off with a wide temperature contrast and will finish with the entire state seeing slightly milder weather than the past couple afternoons.
Friday’s weather
Temperatures across Minnesota Friday morning are ranging widely north to south. In northern Minnesota, under clear skies and especially where winds are calm, most temperatures are below zero, with some places minus 20 or colder. Southern Minnesota saw more clouds linger overnight and is seeing a few spots that are 20 above or milder.
By the afternoon, the entire state will warm into to 20s, with a few 30s possible, especially for southwestern Minnesota.
The southeastern part of the state is beginning the day with a few flurries and spots of light snow that will diminish and move out by midmorning.
Northern Minnesota will see sunny skies all day, while the rest of the state will see increasing sunshine into the afternoon.
