A strong storm will affect Minnesota from Wednesday afternoon through Thursday with high winds plus rain and snow.
Wednesday and Thursday
Wednesday started off chilly for northern Minnesota, but by the afternoon highs will be above average for the entire state, with temperatures in the 30s and 40s.

A strong storm that will slide across northern Minnesota Thursday will already start causing weather impacts later Wednesday.
Clouds and winds will increase through the day. By Thursday, it will be very windy, with most of the state seeing wind gusts over 30 mph at times, and western Minnesota seeing gusts exceed 40 mph.

The system will also bring a mix of predominantly light precipitation. Light snow starts moving into northern Minnesota Wednesday afternoon, and by the end of the day, the majority of the state will have chances for snow north and rain in southern parts of the state.
Here are the expected precipitation types and coverage expected by 10 p.m. Wednesday:

Rain and snow chances linger through Thursday evening.

While most of the precipitation stays light, northern parts of the Arrowhead region have the best chances for snow accumulation with some locations that could see up to 3 or 4 inches of snow through Thursday.

For the Twin Cities, there could be occasionally light rain from late Wednesday through Thursday afternoon.
Friday through Monday
Skies clear out quickly behind the storm, and by Friday and Saturday, plenty of sunshine is back in the forecast. By Saturday another weather system approaches that will funnel in warmer air for the weekend.
The entire state will see mild weather in the 40s and 50s Saturday, and parts of southern Minnesota could hit the 60s Sunday.
The system could bring snow to northern Minnesota by Sunday morning, then a mix of rain and snow is possible for most of the state from Sunday evening through Monday. Currently, it looks like any precipitation would remain light.
That system does also return cooler air for Monday, with highs in the 20s to low 40s. That is seasonable for early March but will be noticeable cooler than the weekend’s warmth.
Here is how that temperature trend looks for the Twin Cities:
