Friday is bringing much different weather than Thursday. Sunshine has returned, winds stay lighter, but the state is also off to a chillier start.
Friday’s forecast
Thursday’s storm moved out quickly, allowing winds to die down and skies to clear. Those conditions mean the entire state is starting off Friday cooler than Thursday’s very mild morning. Morning temperatures are ranging from 20s in southern Minnesota to temperatures below zero across the Arrowhead.

Under plenty of sunshine, the entire state will warm above average, with highs in the 30s and low 40s.

Winds will also stay much lighter, although western Minnesota will see breezy conditions pick back up into the afternoon, and in northwestern Minnesota, winds could gust over 30 mph.

Temperatures this weekend will be even warmer. That extended forecast will be updated around 9 a.m.
