I awoke to the sound of raindrops hitting my window. Sounded like spring!

We’ll have rain showers at times Thursday morning and early afternoon in the Twin Cities metro area, then an isolated sprinkle chance for late afternoon. Southern Minnesota and west-central Wisconsin will also have rain showers at times, and the southeast may see a thunderstorm. Central Minnesota may see periods of rain mixed with snow, while northern Minnesota has periods of snow mixed with sleet or rain at times. 

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s North American Mesoscale forecast model shows the potential precipitation pattern for Thursday and Thursday evening:

Parts of northern Minnesota and northwestern Wisconsin will see accumulating snow today::

Highs in the 40s are expected Thursday afternoon across roughly the southern half of Minnesota , with mainly 30s to the north:

Winds pick up later in the morning and it’ll be breezy in the afternoon, so it’ll feel cooler than the air temperatures.
