Tuesday will be warm with periods of drizzle, then heavier rain chances and more seasonable temperatures return Wednesday.
Tuesday’s forecast
Except for the Arrowhead, with temperatures in the teens and 20s, the entire state started off mild Tuesday, with temperatures in the 30s. Temperatures will stay above average all day. By afternoon, everyone will make it into the 40s, with a few parts of southern Minnesota, including the Twin Cities, in the 50s.
The warm front bringing the mild air has also moved a low layer of stratus clouds across most of the state, causing areas of fog and occasional drizzle.
While denser areas of fog will lift through the morning, light drizzle chances remain through the day. Tuesday evening, as temperatures cool some, a little light snow could mix in for the Arrowhead, but any accumulation should stay under one inch.
Unsettled weather
By late Tuesday, the same system that brought the warm front will start moving a cold front into Minnesota that will traverse the state on Wednesday. This will bring chances for rain or snow to the entire state, but the southern half of Minnesota is most likely to see precipitation.

Central Minnesota is more likely to see light snow, while parts of southeastern Minnesota could see half an inch of rain or more.
Most places have chances for at least some light snow to mix in, but any totals look like they would remain under one inch.
Minor disturbances bring occasional light rain and snow chances in the forecast Thursday and Friday.
A storm sliding south of the state Saturday will bring breezy conditions and chances for another soaking rain to parts of southern Minnesota.
The weather finally settles by Sunday, with more sunshine and dry skies expected.
Upcoming temperatures
Temperatures remain mostly mild and at or above average for the week ahead. It will be cooler Wednesday, due to the cold front, but that is a return to closer to average temperatures after the mild day on Tuesday.
