Tuesday remains cold with scattered afternoon snow showers. Then drier skies prevail and temperatures rise the rest of the week.
Tuesday’s forecast
Tuesday is bringing weather very similar to Monday, with just a couple exceptions. Much of Minnesota started off Tuesday even colder, with a couple spots in northern Minnesota dropping into the single digits. Cold weather remains in place all day, with highs predominantly in the 30s, putting most of the state at least 20 degrees below average.

It will not be as windy as Monday, but it will be breezy enough Tuesday afternoon that wind chills will be in the 20s.
There have already been a few isolated snow showers as of Tuesday morning, but most of the state continues to see sunshine through the a.m. The bands of light snow and cloudiness become more widespread in the afternoon, including for the Twin Cities, which could get around a half an inch of snow accumulation.

By evening, most of the snow showers will be winding down.
The rest of the week
The instability that brought the light snow showers on Monday and for Tuesday should lessen by Wednesday, making snow less likely.
While there are a couple minor disturbances possible that could bring isolated light rain or snow chances through the end of the week, those chances are slim. Much of the second half of the week will bring sunshine.
Under more sunshine, temperatures finally start to rise by just a couple degrees on Wednesday, but they remain about 15 degrees below average.

The state finally gets back to average April temperatures by Saturday. Here is the Twin Cities temperature trend through Sunday:

Extended forecast
Temperatures will likely dip again at the beginning of next week as a cold front passes through the state. But this time, temperatures are expected to recover much more quickly. By the middle of next week, most of Minnesota will be in the 50s and 60s, with a few 70s possible for southern parts of the state.
