A University of Minnesota student has won the 2020 Jeopardy College Championship.

Sophomore Nibir Sarma won the annual college quiz tournament Friday, winning $100,000 in prize money.

Sarma told All Things Considered host Tom Crann there were some aspects of being on the show that surprised the engineering student, like what happened after he selected a category.

"It doesn't fill up the entire big clue screen like it does on TV. The board is actually pretty far away from where the contestants stand so I will just have to say I am very glad that I wore my contacts,” Sarma said.

Sarma said he recommends crossword puzzles for anyone who may want to beef up their trivia skills.
