Temperatures continue to warm Friday and Saturday, then next week will bring much more seasonable weather.
Friday’s forecast
Friday started off slightly milder than previous mornings this week, with morning temperatures ranging from teens north to 30s south. Highs will be in upper 40s and low 50s, which is still 5 to 10 degrees below average, but it is much warmer than the cold temperatures the state has seen so far this week.

In addition to being warmer, mostly sunny skies prevail through the day. Due to a weather system well south of Minnesota, southern Minnesota could see just a few more clouds and a slight chance for an afternoon sprinkle, but that shouldn’t impede any outdoor plans.

Because of below-average precipitation this month, breezy conditions, and low humidity, parts of northeastern Minnesota will see a fire concern Friday afternoon and likely again on Sunday afternoon.

This graph highlights in red the afternoon wind gusts and low afternoon humidity expected in the Duluth area:

Saturday and Sunday
A cold front moving through Minnesota Saturday will not bring a lot of moisture with it, but northern Minnesota could still see light rain or snow during the day Saturday.

It will also be breezier Saturday, with winds gusting over 20 mph at time.

Northern Minnesota will stay slightly below average Saturday because of the cold front, but central and southern Minnesota will make it into the 50s and 60s.

The cooler air spreads across the rest of the state by Sunday, bringing highs only in the 40s and low 50s under mostly sunny skies.
Extended forecast
Temperatures rebound quickly after the dip on Sunday, and more 50s and 60s return for the rest of next week. It is possible a few spots in southern Minnesota could hit 70 once or twice in the week ahead. Here is the Twin Cities forecast through Tuesday:

The forecast next week still has plenty of sunshine, with a couple precipitation chances mixed in, including another chance on Monday for northern Minnesota to see light rain or snow.
