Tuesday will bring cooler but otherwise much quieter weather across the state. A few rain showers are possible later in the day.
Tuesday’s forecast
Much calmer weather has returned for Tuesday. Temperatures will be lower because of the cold front on Monday, starting off with teens in northern Minnesota, 20s for most of the state, and a few 30s in southern Minnesota. Tuesday afternoon, most of the highs will be in the 30s and 40s, putting most of the state about 10 degrees below average.

However, a warm front that will be pushing in from the west could bring parts of southwestern Minnesota into the 50s and 60s.
The high winds have died down, although it could still be slightly breezy in the afternoon.
Between the lighter winds and cooler temperatures, there will not be the elevated fire risk again on Tuesday.

Ahead of the warm from, a few light rain showers are possible for northern Minnesota by afternoon and eastern Minnesota by evening and in the overnight.

For the Twin Cities, this could mean a couple sprinkles in the evening, then spotty little light rain late Tuesday night. In northern Minnesota, a few flakes of snow will likely mix in as temperatures dip overnight.
The warm front will bring much warmer weather across most of Minnesota by Wednesday. That extended forecast will be updated around 9 a.m.
