Temperatures will stay closer to average headed into the weekend, with another round of light rain on the way Thursday into Friday.
Thursday and Friday
After highs Wednesday that ranged from only 30s in parts of the Arrowhead to a few 80s in southern Minnesota, highs Thursday return much closer to average. This means southern Minnesota will not be as warm, while northeastern Minnesota will not be as cold. Except for a couple 40s near the North Shore, Minnesota will see seasonable highs in the 50s and 60s Thursday.

While there will be some breaks of sunshine, Thursday will be cloudier. As of Thursday morning, there have already been a couple isolated showers and areas of drizzle. More spotty rain and possibly a few isolated storms will spread into western Minnesota by afternoon and to eastern Minnesota by evening. Rain showers and possible light snow for the Arrowhead become more widespread overnight Thursday, and that precipitation lingers through much of Friday.

Because the precipitation and cloud cover Friday will be more widespread, there will be fewer 60s on Friday, and most of the state will see highs in the 50s. Rain totals through Friday will stay relatively low, with most of the state likely to see under a quarter inch of rain, and southern Minnesota possibly see a few more totals near a half-inch or slightly more.

The rain is needed as most of Minnesota has seen below average precipitation for the month of April.
Extended forecast
Another weather disturbance could bring a quick round of showers across Minnesota again on Saturday, then Sunday currently looks mostly dry. A weather system that will slide south of Minnesota Tuesday brings additional rain chances on Monday and Tuesday.

Temperatures for the rest of April stay near average, with much of the state seeing highs in the 50s and 60s in the week ahead. Here is the Twin Cities forecast through the weekend:
