Our spring weather is progressing nicely. We had some much needed rain on Tuesday. Since then, the grass is really growing. Trees are leafing out nicely and some flowers are emerging.
In these days of social distancing, it’s great to have weather that cooperates with our plans for a walk, jog or bike ride. Cooperative weather is on tap for the weekend.
Weekend temps and winds
Our average Twin Cities high temperature is 63 degrees on May 2 and 64 degrees on May 3. We’ll see metro area highs in the 70s both days this weekend.
Saturday highs reach the 70s in most of central and southern Minnesota, plus western Wisconsin:

Northern Minnesota will see a lot of 60s.
Saturday will be the breeziest day of the weekend, with afternoon winds gusts of around 14-20 mph possible:

Back to temperatures, Sunday highs will range from 50s in far northern Minnesota to 70s in the south:

Winds will be lighter in most areas on Sunday, but gusty in the far north.
Rain chances?
Most areas won’t see any rain this weekend. Far northeastern Minnesota may see a shower early Saturday morning, and far southern Minnesota may see a shower Sunday afternoon or evening.
