Rain chances continue Tuesday, especially for western and southern Minnesota, while temperatures remain below average for the entire state.
Tuesday’s forecast
An area of low pressure sliding south of the state is bringing rain to parts of western and southern Minnesota as of Tuesday morning.

It has also brought mostly cloudy skies across the entire state. Although the area of rain is moving east, dry air over much of eastern Minnesota will make that part of the state much less likely to see any precipitation reach the ground. Here is the percent chance of precipitation through the rest of the day, showing that from the Twin Cities up through northeastern Minnesota, rain chances are very limited.

Because of the disturbance moving across the state along with the cloud cover, temperatures will remain below average. Most of the state will see highs in the 50s, although parts of western Minnesota that are seeing more rain may only see highs in the 40s.

The rest of the week brings more sunshine but continued cooler than average temperatures. That extended forecast will be updated around 9 a.m.
