Tuesday morning is starting off with most of the state below freezing and even areas of record cold. By the afternoon it will be sunny and comfortable.
Tuesday’s forecast
With Minnesota already cooler than average and clear skies overnight, Tuesday is starting off cold. Temperatures as of 7 a.m. are starting to rise, ranging from the 20s in northern Minnesota to 30s south.

Earlier Tuesday morning, northern Minnesota saw some temperatures in the teens, and International Falls set a record low for the second day in a row. Because of the chilly start, all of southern Minnesota is under a freeze warning until 9 a.m.
High temperatures will be slightly milder than Monday, with more of the state in the 50s and the Twin Cities near 60.

This is still about 10 degrees below average, but it will be comfortable under widespread sunshine and lighter winds. Clouds will start spreading across the state overnight ahead of rain for Wednesday. That extended forecast will be updated around 9 a.m.
