Blizzard warnings in Northwest Minnesota, winter weather advisories across the state

Cloud cover in southern Minnesota keep temperatures slightly below average, while warm, dry and sunny conditions in northern Minnesota raise the fire risk again.

Most of Minnesota is starting off Tuesday mild, with all but the Arrowhead in the 40s and 50s.  Cloud cover is still lingering over the southern part of the state, which will keep afternoon temperatures cooler. 

Under plenty of sunshine, northwestern will be the warm spot yet again Tuesday, which has been the trend since the weekend. Temperatures will range from near 80 in the northwestern corner of the state to only near 60 southeast.

However, the warm weather, dry air and breezy conditions will elevate the fire risk again during the afternoon, especially near the Canadian border. 

Temperatures continue to rise this week, and several parts of Minnesota could see their first 80s of the year. That extended forecast will be updated around 9 a.m.
