Windy weather continues Monday, along with even higher temperatures and a chance for storms.
Monday’s forecast
Monday is starting off warm and breezy, with most of the state seeing temperatures in the 60s, and parts of the state, especially western Minnesota, experiencing wind gusts over 30 mph. It remains breezy all day, with much of the state getting gusts over 20 and 30 mph at times, and the winds will be predominantly out of the south and southeast, funneling warmer air into Minnesota. The warmer air brings temperatures above average, with most places making it into the 80s, and parts of western Minnesota climbing into the 90s.

A few spotty showers and isolated storms have been making their way across the state Monday morning, and are mostly located in central Minnesota as of 7 a.m.

That area is diminishing and should clear through the state by midmorning, and most of the state will see dry skies Monday. However, a weak weather boundary likely brings a few more isolated showers and storms across northern Minnesota from the late afternoon through the evening, moving west to east. Isolated stronger storms are possible, with wind and hail being the primary risk.

The week ahead remains hot, with more severe weather possible by midweek. That extended forecast will be updated around 9 a.m.
