Astronomical summer begins this afternoon. It’ll feel slightly cool, but temps will be in the comfortable range.
Rain chances
Western Minnesota, southeastern Minnesota and parts of western Wisconsin have the best chance for showers Saturday morning, with an isolated t-storm also possible.
Our best chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms in the Twin Cities metro area will be this afternoon. We’ll have many dry hours this Saturday as well.

Temperatures and dew points
Our average Twin Cities high temperature on June 20 is 80 degrees. The Twin Cities metro area will have high temps in the upper 70s this Saturday, but I cannot rule out a stray 80 in the metro. Much of Minnesota and western Wisconsin will have highs in the 70s, with 60s near Lake Superior:

Dew points will be in the comfortable 50s in most spots, with sticky 60s in the far southeast:

Afternoon winds gust will be fairly light:

Plotted values are in knots, with 7 knots equal to 8 mph. I should mention that higher gusts can be expected near any thunderstorms that develop.
This Updraft blog will be updated by 9:45 a.m. with info on the rest of the weekend and the coming week.
