Cooler temperatures linger through midweek, with more hot weather expected by the weekend. Spotty afternoon showers are likely the next couple days, then widespread rain returns Friday.
Tuesday and Wednesday
Tuesday started with temperatures predominantly in the 50s and will see widespread highs in the 70s, which is just slightly below average for late June.

Through the morning, northern Minnesota sees more sun while the southern half of the state stays cloudier.
By afternoon, most of the state sees a mix of sun and clouds. There will also be enough instability by Tuesday afternoon for scattered showers and possibly a couple storms to develop across the state.

Strong storms are not expected, and any wet weather should wind down in the evening.
Wednesday looks similar to Tuesday, with much of the state starting in the 50s and highs still primarily in the 70s, although a couple degrees warmer.
Spotty showers and storms are possible again, but more likely to only develop in southeastern Minnesota.
The heat returns
Although recent days have been cooler, the month of June has been hot for Minnesota, and the heat returns by the weekend. Most of the state is in the 80s again by Thursday, and southern Minnesota likely hits a few 90s by Sunday.

It looks probable that temperatures through next week remain above average.

The next storm
The spotty showers Minnesota could see Tuesday and Wednesday are not part of an organized weather system, and the daytime Thursday looks dry.
The next weather system starts moving into western Minnesota by Thursday evening, and spreads across the state by Friday morning.

Much of the state can expect mostly cloudy skies, with occasional showers and storms through the day Friday, before everything clears out west to east late Friday and into Saturday morning.
