I’ll have your weekend forecast in a moment, but I’ll first give you an update on our Thursday weather. 

The daylight hours of Thursday will be dry across eastern Minnesota and western Wisconsin. Northwestern Minnesota has a chance of scattered showers and an isolated thunderstorm early Thursday afternoon. By late afternoon and Thursday evening much of western Minnesota could see some showers and thunderstorms. Those showers and thunderstorms will spread into parts of eastern Minnesota and western Wisconsin during the overnight hours of Thursday night and continue into Friday morning in some locations.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s North American Mesoscale (NAM) forecast model shows the potential rain pattern from Thursday afternoon through Friday morning:

The NWS Storm Prediction Center shows a slight risk of severe weather (shaded yellow) in a small part of far western Minnesota Thursday and Thursday night:

Slight risk means that scattered severe thunderstorms are possible. The dark-green shaded area in the remainder of western Minnesota and part of central Minnesota has a marginal risk of severe weather late this afternoon and this evening, which means that an isolated severe thunderstorm is possible.  Any thunderstorms in the Twin Cities metro area late tonight/early Friday are expected to be non-severe.

Our average Twin Cities high temperature on June 27 is 82 degrees. We’ll probably reach the upper 80s in the Twin Cities metro area this Saturday afternoon. Most of Minnesota and western Wisconsin will have highs in the 80s on Saturday:

There could be a few 70s up along the North Shore of Lake Superior.

Dew points Saturday will be mainly in the 50s, but they could touch 60 in the far south:

Back to high temps, Sunday will feature a lot of upper 80s, with some lower 90s in the southwest:

We’ll flirt with 90 degrees in the Twin Cities metro area on Sunday, and breezes will pick up in the afternoon.

Sunday dew points creep into the 60s in most areas and they could top 70 in southwestern Minnesota:

Saturday and much of Sunday look rain-free at this point There could be a few scattered showers and an isolated thunderstorm late Sunday afternoon and Sunday evening.
