A warm a humid 4th of July; highest thunderstorm chances northern Minnesota

Severe weather and flooding rains possible NW Minnesota

Northwestern Minnesota will have the best chance of thunderstorms this Fourth of July, and some scattered storms may spread into north-central Minnesota this afternoon and into northeastern Minnesota by evening.

Elsewhere in Minnesota (including the Twin Cities metro area) plus western Wisconsin, there is a possibility of an isolated shower and thunderstorm late this afternoon and this evening.

Parts of northwestern Minnesota are already seeing thunderstorms Saturday morning, and flooding rains are possible in Kittson and Marshall counties:

Updates on the weather in northwestern Minnesota will be posted by the Grand Forks office of the National Weather Service.
