A shift in the weather pattern means an increase in temperatures and humidity Thursday, and part of the state could see storms later in the day.
Thursday’s forecast
Minnesota is off to another crisp start Thursday, with temperatures starting in the 40s and 50s. There are also areas of fog in central and northeastern Minnesota, which will burn off by midmorning. However, while the morning is starting off cool, highs will be warmer than Wednesday, with more temperatures in the 80s.
This is because a pattern shift brings more of a southeast wind flow, which will draw in both warmer and more humid air.
After mostly sunny skies Thursday, a few scattered showers and storms push into western Minnesota by late night, bringing an isolated chance for severe weather.
Both the storm chances and the heat increase through the weekend. That extended forecast will be updated around 9 a.m.
