More sunshine and mild weather for Wednesday

Morning fog lifts quickly in central Minnesota

Minnesota’s recent trend of dry weather and seasonable temperatures continues Wednesday.

Wednesday’s forecast

Under a widespread area of high pressure, Minnesota continues its quiet weather trend Wednesday. Morning temperatures are ranging from a few 40s north to 60s south, which is near average for most of the state, to just slightly below average for the cooler spots. Highs in the 70s and 80s will also be near average for late July, and humidity remains comfortable.

Although dry and sunny skies prevail for most of the state, a few parts of central Minnesota are starting the day with fog that will lift by midmorning.  There is also a weak boundary causing a few more clouds in southwestern Minnesota and could bring that part of the state a few isolated sprinkles, especially in the morning hours.

Widespread rain returns to the forecast Friday and Saturday. That extended forecast will be updated around 9 a.m.
