September in early August. That’s what Sunday felt like. The Sunday high at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport was 73 degrees, which was 10 degrees shy of our average August 2 high of 83. It’ll be a few days before we see highs in the 80s.

Highs will be in the 70s on Monday across most of Minnesota and western Wisconsin:

A few spots in northeastern Minnesota may only reach the 60s.

Dew points will be in the comfortable upper 40s and lower 50s:

Twin Cities metro area highs are projected to reach the mid 70s on Tuesday, followed by upper 70s Wednesday, around 80 on Thursday and mid 80s Friday. Dew points will start to ramp up late Thursday into Friday. We could see scattered showers and thunderstorms Wednesday evening and on Thursday and Friday.

Some forecast models show metro area highs in the upper 80s next weekend. It looks like a humid weekend, too. Warmer-than-normal temps could continue into the first part of the following week.  The NWS Climate Prediction Center shows a tendency for above-normal temperatures in Minnesota and Wisconsin from August 8 through August 12:

Tropical Storm Isaias may pick up strength before it makes landfall:

As of 4 p.m. CDT Sunday, Tropical Storm Isaias was centered 65 miles southeast of Cape Canaveral, Florida.  Maximum sustained winds were 70 mph and Isaias was moving to the north-northwest at 9 mph.

A combination of tropical storm warnings, storm surge warnings and hurricane watches have been issued for Isaias.  Here’s the NHC Sunday afternoon advisory on Isaias:

The National Hurricane Center typically issues updates every few hours.
