Temperatures rise through the week

Monday and Tuesday stay dry, then rain returns Wednesday

After a cool start Monday, temperatures return to average by the end of the week. Spotty showers and storms are back in the forecast by Wednesday.

Monday and Tuesday

Behind a cold front that passed through the state over the weekend, cooler and drier air has settled across the state. Under high pressure, winds stay light and skies stay sunny both days.  Temperatures remain slightly below average, and most places see highs in the 70s.

Much like Monday morning, Tuesday starts off a little brisk, with morning lows predominantly in the 40s and 50s.

By Wednesday, a disturbance starts moving across the state bringing possible showers and storms through Thursday morning.

Any activity currently looks scattered, the risk for severe weather is low, and rain totals will be light for most places.

For the Twin Cities, the mostly likely timing of rain is Wednesday evening into the overnight. After that, occasionally, spotty chances for showers and storms continue into the weekend, but there will be far more dry stretches than wet weather.

Temperatures

Temperatures warm slightly over the next few days, likely returning to average by Thursday or Friday. Most of the state sees highs back in the 80s by Friday.

Overnight lows also moderate, with 40s less likely by Wednesday morning. Wednesday and Thursday morning likely see a mix of lows in the 50s and 60s, and by the weekend, those milder lows in the 60s become much more prevalent.
