Weekend forecast: Steamy, with thunderstorms at times
Severe weather and areas of heavy rain are possible
I’ll get to the weekend forecast in a moment. First I’ll give you an update on our Friday afternoon/Friday night weather.
Minnesota and western Wisconsin will see some areas of showers and thunderstorms Friday afternoon, Friday evening and overnight Friday night. Some areas could see severe weather and heavy rainfall, especially late Friday afternoon into Friday evening and overnight.
The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center shows a slight risk of severe weather Friday afternoon, Friday evening and overnight Friday night in much of northern and central Minnesota (including the northern half of the Twin Cities metro area) and parts of northwestern Wisconsin:

A steamy weekend
Saturday will feel very summery, with highs in the 80s:
A few spots in southwestern Minnesota could touch 90 degrees.
Dew points will be in the steamy 70s in central and southern Minnesota and parts of western Wisconsin:
Sunday highs will reach the 80s in most areas:

Weekend thunderstorms
Forecast models show some clusters of thunderstorms in Minnesota and western Wisconsin Saturday morning, then a break in the action for most areas before scattered thunderstorms redevelop later in the afternoon and during Saturday evening.
Many areas will see some periods of thunderstorms overnight Saturday night.
Scattered thunderstorms are possible in Minnesota and western Wisconsin during the daylight hours of Sunday, with more numerous thunderstorms possible Sunday night.
Stay weather aware this weekend, and make sure that you have a way to receive severe weather warnings. Some locations could also see some localized flooding.
