I recommend that you have a “plan B” for your Sunday/Sunday evening outdoor activities. You may have to scoot indoors at times due to rain, lightning and strong winds.
Minnesota and western Wisconsin will have periods of showers and thunderstorms this Sunday, Sunday evening and Sunday night. A few severe thunderstorms will be possible, and some areas will see heavy rain at times.

Steamy Sunday, then cooler and drier Monday
Our Sunday afternoon will feature summery temps. Sunday highs will be mainly in the 80s, with some 70s in northeastern Minnesota. Dew points will be in the steamy 70s in most areas, with some 60s in far northern Minnesota.
Monday highs will be mainly in the 70s, with some lower 80s in southeastern Minnesota:
By Monday afternoon, dewpoints will be in the very dry 40s in northern Minnesota and in the relatively comfortable 50s elsewhere:
Scattered showers are possible early Monday morning in southeastern Minnesota and parts of western Wisconsin.
Temperature trends
Twin Cities metro area highs are projected to reach 80 on Monday, followed by lower 80s Tuesday and mid 80s Wednesday through Friday.
Temperatures may be a bit above normal next weekend into the start of the following week. The NWS Climate Prediction Center shows a tendency for above-normal temps in Minnesota and western Wisconsin from August 14 through August 18:
