Some locations in the northern and western parts of the Twin Cities metro area had soaking rains early Sunday afternoon. Much of the south metro saw little or no rain. Parts of the metro area could see scattered thunderstorms after sunset Sunday evening or overnight Sunday night.
Here’s the big picture: Thunderstorms were rumbling across parts of northern Minnesota and northwestern Wisconsin late Sunday afternoon. Additional batches of thunderstorms will develop Sunday evening and overnight Sunday night as a cold front moves slowly across Minnesota and eventually crosses into western Wisconsin.

The NWS Storm Prediction Center will be updating the severe weather watch map Sunday evening.
The Storm Prediction Center’s severe weather outlook shows the possibility of scattered severe thunderstorms for most of Minnesota and western Wisconsin Sunday evening and overnight Sunday night. Some areas could also see heavy rain at times.

Cooler and much less humid on Monday
The daylight hours of Monday look rain-free in most of Minnesota. Far southern Minnesota and southwestern Wisconsin could see scattered morning showers.
Monday highs will be mainly in the upper 70s, with lower 80s in southeastern Minnesota:
Some spots in the Twin Cities metro will touch 80.
Monday afternoon dew points will be in the comfortable 40s and lower 50s:
Comfortable temps this week
Twin Cities metro area highs are projected to reach the lower 80s Tuesday, followed by mid 80s Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Tuesday and Wednesday look dry, followed by a chance of showers and t-storms Wednesday night, Thursday and Friday.
