The Twin Cities NWS office sent a storm survey team out on Saturday. The survey team confirmed that a brief EF-0 tornado touched down near Crystal Friday evening. There were also destructive downburst winds in the area. Significant tree damage was noted by the NWS in a concentrated area near Crystal , Robbinsdale and New Hope. Max winds were estimated to be near 75 mph.
Saturday evening severe weather potential in northern Minnesota
The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center has issued a severe thunderstorm watch that runs until 11 p.m. this Saturday across much of northwestern and north-central Minnesota:

Parts of northeastern Minnesota could also see some scattered strong to severe thunderstorms Saturday evening. More on that, from the NWS Duluth office, with “this evening” referring to Saturday evening:
Portions of northwestern Wisconsin could see a strong or severe thunderstorm late Saturday evening.

Sunday forecast
The daylight hours of Sunday look dry in most areas. One forecast model shows a few scattered thunderstorms in far southern Minnesota Sunday afternoon and Sunday evening. Any t-storms may stay south of the Twin Cities metro area, but an isolated t-storm cannot be ruled out for the metro area late Sunday afternoon or Sunday evening.
Sunday highs will be in the 70s north with low to mid 80s south:

Temperature trends
Twin Cities metro area highs are projected to reach the upper 70s on Monday, followed by highs in the lower 80s Tuesday through Friday.
The NWS Climate Prediction Center isn’t showing any strong temperature trend for August 23 through August 29:
Minnesota and western Wisconsin could see near-normal temps during the last full week of August, with just a slight tendency for above-normal temps in southern Minnesota.
