Our Sunday high at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport was 84 degrees. That was a bit warmer than our average August 16 high temp of 81, but dew points in the 50s made it feel very comfortable.
Temperature trends
Monday highs will be in the 70s across most of Minnesota and western Wisconsin:
Southwestern Minnesota may see some lower 80s. Dew points Monday afternoon are expected to stay in the 50s.

Twin Cities metro area highs are projected to reach the lower 80s Tuesday and Wednesday, followed by mid 80s Thursday and Friday.
We don’t see any extreme heat in the next 10 days. The NWS Climate Prediction Center isn’t showing any strong temperature trend for August 22 through August 26:
There’s just a very slight tendency for above-normal temps in Minnesota and western Wisconsin for that period. We may see near-normal temps next weekend into the start of the following week.

A few very spotty showers and thunderstorms are possible this Sunday evening in Minnesota and western Wisconsin.

Monday and most of Tuesday look dry, then thunderstorm chances return Tuesday night and linger into Wednesday.
No 90s this month
Our official Twin Cities high temp hasn’t yet hit 90 degrees this August. The official temp, which is measured at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, has hit 90 degrees or warmer on 12 days so far this year. Our long-term average is 11 days per year with a high of 90 or warmer in the Twin Cities.
