It’s not unusual for a summertime thunderstorm to bubble up during the late afternoon or early evening hours. The best chance of that happening this Sunday will be in southwestern and south-central Minnesota. The NWS Storm Prediction Center shows a marginal risk (shaded dark green) of severe weather Sunday afternoon and evening in southwestern and south-central Minnesota:
Marginal risk means that an isolated severe thunderstorm is possible. Elsewhere in Minnesota and western Wisconsin there is less of a thunderstorm chance, but a few spotty thunderstorms are possible late this afternoon and this evening.
