Above average temperatures return

Chances for wet weather increase late-week

Mostly quiet weather prevails across Minnesota until Friday, when the next cold front brings a broader chance for showers and storms back to the state.

Tuesday’s Forecast

Under clear skies overnight, most of the state started in the 50s Tuesday morning, with a few 40s in central northeastern Minnesota. Although that’s a few degrees below average, by afternoon, most of the state will be above average in the 80s, with 70s in the Arrowhead.

As the high pressure that has been keeping our weather quiet slides east, spotty chances for precipitation return.

Northern Minnesota sees isolated chances for a few showers or storms beginning Tuesday afternoon and through the evening, but rain should stay predominantly light, and no severe weather is likely.

The rest of the state remains dry and sees mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies.

Extended forecast

Those very isolated shower and storms chances continue through Thursday, especially in northern Minnesota. Outside of any spotty rain, mostly sunny skies continue.

A cold front then moves through the state Friday into early Saturday, bringing a more widespread chance for showers and storms across the state.
