Our average August 29 high temp in the Twin Cities is 78 degrees, so today’s forecast high of 76 degrees in the metro area is just slightly below average.

Saturday highs will be mainly in the 70s across Minnesota and western Wisconsin:

There could be a few 60s in northeastern Minnesota.

Saturday afternoon dew points will be in the comfortable 50s:

Sunday high temperatures will be mainly in the 70s:

Some spots in southwestern Minnesota could touch 80 and there will be a few 60s in parts of the northeast.

Saturday is expected to be rain-free in Minnesota and western Wisconsin. The daylight hours of Sunday also look dry in most areas. Northwestern and west-central Minnesota could see some showers and thunderstorms late Sunday afternoon/early Sunday evening. Those showers and thunderstorms spread eastward late Sunday evening and Sunday night. 

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s North American Mesoscale (NAM) forecast model shows the potential rain pattern Sunday afternoon and Sunday evening:

In the Twin Cities metro area, our Sunday thunderstorm chance will probably hold off until after sunset.
