For most of Minnesota, Tuesday will be the warmest day through the end of the week, with a few places even seeing 70s. Colder weather brings frost and freeze concerns by Friday.
Tuesday’s forecast
Minnesota started seasonable to slightly above average again, with almost the entire state in the 40s.
Thanks to being in the warmer sector of a weather system that brings a cold front through later Tuesday, all but the Arrowhead should warm into the 60s by afternoon, and western Minnesota could see a few 70s.
Because of the active weather pattern, there are more light showers and sprinkles moving across the state Tuesday, especially in the morning, but like Monday, thunderstorm chances stay limited.

Outside of any wet weather, skies remain mostly cloudy, with a bit more sunshine in the afternoon, in between the influences of the warm front and cold front.
Active weather continues
Occasional rounds of spotty to scattered showers continue through the end of the week thanks to an active weather pattern.
Already Wednesday, as the front that moves through late Tuesday departs to the south, another cold front moves in from the north, bringing renewed rain chances.
Almost all of the state could see isolated light rain Wednesday, with more widespread activity in northern Minnesota. It also turns windier again by Wednesday afternoon as the second front approaches.
The active pattern continues to bring light rain chances to parts of Minnesota Thursday and Saturday, with Friday currently looking like the driest day through the end of the week.
Cold weather returns
Behind Tuesday evening’s cold front, temperatures drop slightly Wednesday, back to highs in the 50s and low 60s.
After the second cold front, much colder air moves in, and highs plummet into the 40s and 50s, putting much of the state 10 to 15 degrees below average.
