After Minnesota’s recent colder weather, temperatures rise Monday under widespread sunshine.
Monday’s forecast
Despite clear skies overnight, morning temperatures remained mild for early October, with most of the state starting Monday in the 40s. The warmer air is thanks to breezy winds out of the south. Winds could gust over 20 and even 30 mph at times, especially in southern Minnesota.
This flow brings highs above average, with 60s through much of the state and a few 70s south.
It will also be mostly sunny, so between the mild temperatures and sunshine, we can expect a pleasant fall day.
The one exception to the dry weather is northern Minnesota, particularly near the Canadian border, where a disturbance brings a few more clouds and a chance for isolated light rain showers during the afternoon.
Overall, the week ahead stays mild and mostly sunny. That extended forecast will be updated around 9 a.m.
