Tuesday turns windier again

Northern Minnesota sees light morning rain

Tuesday is starting with a few light showers, then windy conditions increase in the afternoon.

Tuesday’s forecast

Much like Monday, Tuesday is beginning milder than average, with temperatures in the 40s and 50s.

An area of low pressure moving through the state Tuesday morning is bringing a few light rain showers across both northern Minnesota and along the southern border. Rain moves out quickly in the morning, then winds pick up into the afternoon. Northern Minnesota in particular could see gusts over 30 and 40 mph.

Under those breezy conditions, but also widespread sunshine during the afternoon, highs will be very typical for mid-October with 50s in northern Minnesota, and low 60s south.

A more potent storm moves across Minnesota Wednesday, bringing both rain and much colder air. That extended forecast will be updated around 9 a.m.
