Colder and still windy for Thursday

The state is starting the day frosty

Much of Minnesota is beginning Thursday below freezing, and it stays cold and breezy throughout the day.

Thursday’s weather

Behind Wednesday’s cold front, and with skies clearing overnight, temperatures Thursday morning are chilly, in the 20s and 30s.  In fact, all of Minnesota except southeastern portion of the state, are starting the day below freezing.

Highs in the 40s for most of the state will also be about 10 to 15 degrees below average.

Skies start off mostly sunny, with a few more clouds in the afternoon.

Although not as windy as Wednesday, where even the Twin Cities saw gusts over 50 mph, Thursday remains breezy, with afternoon wind gusts in the 20 to 30 mph range.

The weather turns more active again by the weekend with chances for both rain and snow.  That forecast will be updated around 9 a.m.
