Parts of Minnesota are starting Friday with their coldest morning so far this season, and temperatures remain below average all day.
Friday’s forecast
Between the colder air that moved in Thursday, and clearing skies overnight meaning no insulation, temperatures plummeted by Friday morning.
Most places are starting Friday in the lower teens or single digits.
For many locations in central and southern Minnesota, this is the coldest air so far this season. This includes the Twin Cities, which previously had its coldest morning Oct. 27 at 16 degrees but is now at 13 as of 7 a.m. Friday.

Thanks to a southerly wind flow and plentiful sunshine, temperatures rise significantly, with afternoon highs in the 30s.
This is still slightly below average for this time of year.
Minnesota sees a few more 40s by Saturday, but another chance for rain and snow also move in over the weekend.
