Breezy winds from the south make for a mild forecast Wednesday.
Wednesday’s forecast
By Tuesday afternoon, winds across Minnesota started to shift to a more southerly component, becoming breezier overnight. For the rest of the day Wednesday, winds pick up even more, with most of the state seeing gusts over 20 or 30 mph by afternoon.
That warm wind flow from the south is drawing in milder weather. Wednesday morning temperatures in the 20s and 30s are already noticeable higher than the chilly start on Tuesday.
Highs in the 40s and 50s put most of the state about 10 degrees above average, and the southwestern corner of the state will flirt with 60.
Skies remain dry, with a mix of sunshine and clouds. Northern Minnesota especially could see mostly cloudy skies in the afternoon.
Warm weather continues Thursday, with spotty precipitation chances returning over the weekend. That extended forecast will be updated around 9 a.m.
