Chance of light snow in many areas Sunday

Breezy by afternoon

We’ve seen measurable snow at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport on just one day this December. Our Dec. snow total at MSP airport stands at just two-tenths of an inch. Parts of the Twin Cities metro area could see a dusting of snow this afternoon.

Light snow begins in northwestern and west-central Minnesota early this morning, then spreads to the east/southeast. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s North American Mesoscale (NAM) forecast model shows the potential precipitation pattern this Sunday and Sunday evening:

Snow accumulations are expected to be less than an inch in northern and central Minnesota and northwestern Wisconsin, with just a dusting in most other areas.
