Noticeably colder weather has settled across Minnesota, making Monday the coldest day for far this season for parts of the state.
Monday’s forecast
Behind a cold front that passed through Minnesota Sunday, even colder air has spread across the state.
A few spots, including the Twin Cities, are clinging to temperatures in the teens, but most of the state is in the single digits or below zero.
This makes it the coldest morning of the season for most of the state.

Despite mostly sunny skies, highs will be similarly cold, ranging from single digits north, to 20s south.
This puts the state 5 to 15 degrees below average, which would not normally be uncommon for mid-December, but this season has been so mild, those highs will also be the coldest of the season for many places.
For example, the Twin Cities’ previous coldest high temperatures so far this fall was this past Sunday at 27. Even International Falls has had highs in the 20s or above all season, with the coldest high so far this past Saturday at 22.
Temperatures start to rebound already Tuesday, and the rest of the week stays predominantly above average. That extended forecast will be updates around 9 a.m.
