Light snow for northern Minnesota Tuesday

Seasonably cold weather across the state

Temperatures turn slightly milder Tuesday, with a few snowflakes in the forecast.

Tuesday’s forecast

After Monday’s frigid weather that brought much of Minnesota the coldest air so far this season, Tuesday is starting off seasonably chilly. Morning temperatures are mostly in the single digits to low teens.

Highs will also be fairly typical for mid-December with teens north and 20s south.

Skies remain mostly cloudy Tuesday, and a disturbance is bringing very light snow that moves across northern Minnesota through the day. Most places will see less than an inch of accumulation, although the very eastern edge of the Arrowhead could see a couple inches of snow.

Southern Minnesota could see a couple isolated flurries during the day.

Temperatures continue to rise, putting the entire state back above average by Thursday and staying mild for the next week. That extended forecast will be updated around 9 a.m.
