Near normal temps this Saturday afternoon

The light rain and freezing drizzle of Friday evening, combined with areas of freezing fog, have caused icy spots on some sidewalks, roads and bridges in eastern Minnesota and western Wisconsin.

Portions of the Twin Cities metro area have icy spots this Saturday morning, and travelers to the southeast will encounter icy spots as well:

Our average Twin Cities high temperature is 26 degrees on Dec. 19. The metro area will top out close to 30 this Saturday. Much of Minnesota will see Saturday highs in the 20s, with lower 30s from far southern Minnesota into west-central and southwestern Wisconsin:

Saturday winds gusts will be 10 mph or less in most areas, but gusts may range from 16 to 25 mph in west-central and northwestern Minnesota:

Western Minnesota will see a lot of sunshine, while parts of the east will start out cloudy and then see decreasing cloudiness late Saturday morning into Saturday afternoon.
