Neighbors make surprise discovery in Duluth beach restoration: Shreds of vintage cans

Water surrounds an area of land that is eroded.
Dredged material used to replenish a portion of the Park Point Beach that is being steadily eroded takes a roundabout path to its final destination. After material is dredged from the shipping canals of the harbor, some of it is transported to a barge, which then travels to a box (next to blue crane in the center left of the photo) where it is pumped via a pipeline that runs under the lift bridge to the beach on the other side of the bridge.
