Temperatures are noticeably higher Friday, but the milder weather comes with gray skies.
Friday’s forecast
Under widespread cloud cover and a milder wind flow from the southeast, all of Minnesota is starting warmer Friday than recent mornings. There are a few negative temperatures along the northern border, but central and southern Minnesota have temperatures at least in the teens Friday morning.
Daytime highs will also trend warmer, with the entire state back above average and in the 20s.
Cloudy skies linger through the day, with enough instability for occasional isolated flurries or a little freezing drizzle.
While Friday’s precipitation is unlikely to cause many problems, a winter storm passing south of the state over the weekend brings a much wider area of freezing precipitation and snow Friday night and into the weekend.
