Tuesday starts foggy, then stays cloudy

Temperatures remain above average across the entire state

Mild temperatures continue Tuesday despite limited sunshine during the day.

Tuesday’s forecast

Minnesota is off to another mild start for this time of year Tuesday, with most of the state seeing morning lows in the teens.

Under stagnant high pressure and with light winds, widespread fog developed overnight, especially across central and southern Minnesota.  The thickest morning fog has been in the southwestern corner of the state, with many visibilities under one mile, so drive with care.

Fog lifts through the morning, but the rest of the day remains mostly cloudy, with only a few peeks of sunshine likely.

Despite the cloud cover, winds from the south help the entire state rise into the mid- and upper 20s for highs Tuesday.

Wednesday will be even warmer, then temperatures plummet the second half of the week. That extended forecast will be updated around 9 a.m.
