One rainy weekend day and one day with plenty of sunshine. That’s not half-bad.
Saturday’s thick clouds, rain and northeastern Minnesota snow have shifted into eastern Wisconsin and beyond.
Most of Minnesota and western Wisconsin will have plenty of sunshine today. There will be an increase in cloudiness in parts of far western Minnesota by mid and late Sunday afternoon. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s North American Mesoscale (NAM) forecast model shows the potential coverage of low clouds as we go through the afternoon:

A few scattered clouds are possible elsewhere in Minnesota and western Wisconsin.

Temperature trends
Our average March 28 high temperature is 48 degrees in the Twin Cities. Metro area highs will be in the upper 40s to around 50 this Sunday. Highs in the 50s are expected in west-central and southwestern Minnesota, with mainly 40s elsewhere:

Parts of northeastern Minnesota will top out in the upper 30s.
Sunday afternoon wind gusts are expected to be in the 12-20 mph range in most areas:

Plotted gusts are in knots, with 15 knots equal to about 17 mph. Gusts could top 20 mph in parts of southeastern Minnesota and southwestern Wisconsin today.
