More sunshine Friday

Temperatures return to near-average warmth

Friday stays dry and mild, with most of the state seeing more sunshine than Minnesota has had in days.

Friday’s forecast

Minnesota is starting off in the 30s Friday morning except for the Arrowhead which, under clear skies and light winds overnight, dropped into the 20s.

More of us will see consistent sunshine during the day, except the western edge of the state stays mostly cloudy. This is because a storm that stays south of Minnesota is pushing light precipitation and more clouds into the Dakotas, and some of that cloud cover is impacting our western border. That portion of the state also stays a little breezier through the day.

Under less sunshine, western Minnesota sees highs in the 4os, while most of the state makes it into the 50s.

Sunshine becomes even more plentiful for the entire state by Saturday, and temperatures stay seasonable through the weekend before colder weather returns Monday. That extended forecast will be updated around 9 a.m.
