Our average Twin Cities high temperature is 59 degrees on April 17. The metro area will top out in the upper 50s on Saturday. Most of Minnesota and western Wisconsin will have Saturday highs in the 50s:

It’ll be a bit breezy Saturday afternoon, especially in western Minnesota, where gusts could approach 20 mph:

Back to temperatures, Sunday highs will range from 40s in northwestern Minnesota to lower 60s in parts of southeastern Minnesota:

Far northwestern Minnesota will probably see their Sunday highs in the morning, with falling temps Sunday afternoon.

Sunday afternoon winds will be highest in northwestern Minnesota, where gusts over 25 mph are possible after the cold front moves through:

Weekend rain/snow chances?

West-central and southwestern Minnesota could see scattered rain showers Saturday morning. Saturday looks dry elsewhere in Minnesota and western Wisconsin.

The daylight hours of Sunday look dry in southern Minnesota and western Wisconsin. Some showers will spread across far northern Minnesota during Sunday afternoon. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s North American Mesoscale (NAM) forecast model shows the potential precipitation pattern Sunday afternoon:

The precipitation may be a mix of rain and snow in far northwestern Minnesota, then it transitions to mainly snow in the northwest later in the day. The rain/snow pattern spreads southward Sunday evening and overnight Sunday night. Precipitation is expected to hold off until after sunset on Sunday in the Twin Cities.

Weekend sunshine?

Eastern Minnesota is expected to see more sunshine than western Minnesota on Saturday. Southern Minnesota should see more sunshine than northern Minnesota on Sunday.
