Cold and occasionally snowy weather prevails through Wednesday, then much warmer weather returns Thursday, but cooler temperatures quickly return.
Tuesday and Wednesday
Minnesota started chilly Tuesday, with much of the state in the teens or 20s and areas of frost. A few portions of the Twin Cities metro managed to cling in the low 30s.
Wednesday brings a similarly chilly and frosty start, with most of the state expecting morning lows in the 20s again.
High also stay 10 to 20 degrees below average with 30s north and 40s south Tuesday.

More of the state makes it into the 40s Wednesday.
Both days begin sunnier, with more clouds in the afternoon. There will be enough instability for scattered light snow showers or sprinkles and flurries Tuesday afternoon.

A few light snow showers and sprinkles are also expected Wednesday afternoon, but that precipitation chance becomes less likely in northern Minnesota.

Extended forecast
Thursday brings the warmest weather through the rest of the week, as southwesterly winds warm much of Minnesota into the upper 50s and low 60s. This is seasonable warmth for late April. Plenty of sunshine is also in Thursday’s forecast.
Temperatures start to dip again beginning Friday, as a cold front makes its way across the state. That storm also brings scattered rain showers, along with some snow mixing in north, from Thursday night through Saturday morning.

By Saturday, cooler air returns for all of Minnesota, with most of the state stuck in the 40s and the metro struggling to hit 50.
Here is that temperature rollercoaster for the Twin Cities through Saturday:

The extended forecast for next week indicates there may be a midweek warmup, but overall, temperatures are likely to trend slightly below average again.
