Our official Twin Cities high temperature hit 85 degrees on April 5, setting a new record high for that date. The next couple of days featured highs in the 70s, but we haven’t topped 70 degrees at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport since April 7. That sub-70 streak will end this weekend.
Our average Twin Cities high temperature is 65 degrees on May 1. The Twin Cities metro area will top out in the lower 80s this Saturday afternoon. Roughly the southern half of Minnesota, plus west-central and southwestern Wisconsin, will have Saturday highs in the 80s:
Northern Minnesota will have Saturday highs in the 70s and 60s.
Saturday afternoon will be breezy in eastern Minnesota and western Wisconsin, with wind gusts of 16 to 23 mph:

Back to temperatures, Sunday highs will be in the 70s in roughly the southern third of Minnesota, with mainly 60s and 50s to the north:
Parts of northeastern Minnesota will top out in the 40s.
Sunday wind gusts will be in the 15-20 mph range in most areas, with higher gusts along the North Shore of Lake Superior:
Rain chances
The daylight hours of Saturday look rain-free in most of Minnesota and western Wisconsin. Far northwestern Minnesota could see scattered showers late Saturday afternoon and Saturday evening.
Most areas will see rain showers at times on Sunday. Steadier rains could develop Sunday afternoon in northeastern Minnesota and northwestern Wisconsin. An isolated thunderstorm is also possible Sunday and Sunday evening. The northern third of Minnesota could see some scattered showers overnight Saturday night.
