A cool Saturday; bright in the east, shower chances in western Minn.

Our official Saturday low temp was 42 degrees at MSP airport. Some upper 30s were reported in Crystal, Blaine and Lakeville.

Many spots in Minnesota and western Wisconsin had overnight lows in the 30s. Some spots dipped to the 20s. Duluth tied their record low of 29, and Hibbing set a new record low of 22 for this date:

A combination of freeze warnings and frost advisories continue until 9 a.m. this Saturday in northeastern Minnesota and portions of northwestern Wisconsin:

Cool afternoon

Saturday afternoon highs will be in the 60s across most of Minnesota and western Wisconsin:

There could be a few 50s up along the North Shore of Lake Superior.

Our average Twin Cities high temp is 74 degrees this time of year, so today’s highs in the mid to upper 60s are several degrees below average.

Dew points will be very low, making it feel a bit like autumn:

Afternoon wind gusts will be 14-18 mph in the east, but over 20 mph in the west:

Plotted gusts are in knots, with 15 knots equal to 17.3 mph

Western Minnesota could see some scattered showers this afternoon and evening. Our chance of showers in eastern Minnesota and western Wisconsin starts around sunset.
